Community Service
LOCAL
The
Concert Band performs twice each year at the Delta Hospital Extended
Care Unit (ECU). Besides offering musical entertainment, several
of the society members are also Delta Hospital volunteers at the ECU.
The band takes part in the Summer Concerts-in-the-Park series organized
by Delta Parks and Recreation, providing four or five concerts each year
as well as a
variety of other civic events. They also play at the annual
December Concert at the Genesis Theatre in Ladner.
REGIONAL
Performances at other events and locations in the Lower Mainland include,
Kerrisdale Days, Metrotown Musical Entertainment, Kerrisdale Senior Centre,
Crescent Gardens Senior Centre in White Rock, and at various venues for
Vancouver’s Concert-in-the-Park series. Occasionally the band
performs for night school ESL classes in Delta and Surrey, forming part of
their culturalization curriculum.
