In addition to the 40 some rehearsals, the
Delta Music Makers perform approximately 20 concerts each year.
The band is a community society and so most of the concerts are
performed locally - hospitals, senior housing, community and commercial
centers, and concerts-in-the-park in the summer.
On average every three years, the band takes an
extended tour together away from home, and have performed at...
-
Disneyland in California 1988
-
Disney World in Florida 1991
-
Reno/Lake Tahoe Nevada 1994
-
Canyonlands of Utah and Arizona 1996
-

- Proposed DC-NYNY-Boston

Other one-day events that involve a lot of preparation and planning by committees include:

three weeks, performing at Windsor Station near Windsor Castle, Castle
Howard in Yorkshire, Stirling Castle and Portobello in Edinburgh, for
the Fringe Festival in Chester, in Battle at the site of the 1066
Norman Invasion, and on the famous band shell on the beach at
Eastbourne.

Concert Preparation
|
- 100% DMM attendance at concerts is always pursued,
but rarely achieved, because all our band members have other
lives! Projected Attendance Sheet will be passed around for you
to indicate your attendance intentions - Curt needs to know accurate
numbers to determine setup and choice of music.
- Always arrive 45 minutes prior to start-time.
All outdoor concerts are weather-dependent; phone your section leader 2
hours prior to start-time.
- New members should ask about a portable music stand,
and a uniform (DMM supplies jacket, tie, cummerbund, while members
supply their own black pants or skirt, white shirt, black shoes).
- We often go for a snack, dinner, or drink after
concerts; your suggestions for nearby coffee shops or restaurants
are welcome.
