Building on the success of our trial effort last June 14, the DMM Board is helping me plan the Third Annual Ladner Bandfest, Sunday June 11, noon to 6pm, location Memorial Park in Ladner. This happens to coincide with the Ladner Market day, so it will be an exciting day in Ladner!

Family Day! Be sure to bring your family, your lawn chairs and your picnic baskets, and prepare to spend the entire day in Ladner! The Ladner Farm Market is just two blocks away, operating from 9am to 3pm, with lots of shopping, crafts, art, meals, and snacks. Additionally, the Bandfest organizers are attempting to arrange for a food catering service to provide snacks and drinks at Memorial Park.

Volunteers Volunteers are needed! The jobs are not onerous, and can be learned quickly. If you have musicians or family members interested in helping us out for two hours during the course of the day, please email Pat Hull. Members of the public are also invited to volunteer!

Schedule: Bands will alternate on the two stages. In other words, while a band is performing on the Delta Show Stage, another band will be setting up on the Gazebo, to perform immediately the Show Stage band finishes. The audience will swivel their chairs back and forth to face the appropriate stage.

Photo-Calendar! The Delta Music Makers will be creating a handsome Ladner Bandfest Calendar using the 11 band photos taken by Photographer Hugh Martell, 604-730-0578. For the 12th photo, all musicians present are invited to participate in a massed photograph, with 500-600 musicians standing together in uniform at 6pm. These attractive, professional, colour calendars will be available for purchase in November from the Delta Music Makers. They'll make excellent Christmas presents on a musical theme!
