The Vancouver Dorfmusik was founded in 1984 by four members of the Vancouver Swiss Society to perform Swiss and European style music similar to small village bands.

The band has performed in the Vancouver area, Whistler, Vernon, and the USA; they toured Switzerland and Germany twice, in 1991 and 1998.

The Band recorded a CD for their 20th anniversary, and presents an annual concert for their Swiss and Canadian fans.
