CORPORATE SPONSORS

            Over the past few years the Delta Music Makers Community Band Society has been successful in acquiring sponsorships from local, regional, national and international corporations, plus individual’s contributions.  These donations have enabled them to develop a variety of programmes and benefits for their members as well as establishing scholarships for local, young musicians.

            The members themselves, through night school fees, meet funds for on-going expenses inherent in running a band and performing concerts.  However, on occasion it is necessary to purchase instruments, uniforms, music stands, sheet music, and various items of expensive sound equipment for amplification and recording of concerts.  Corporate and/or government sponsorship is frequently requested to cover these costs.

            Your sponsorship could include any of the following:

Sheet Music Sponsorship:  The band maintains an extensive library of music, but the cost of a single piece of concert band music usually starts at $75.00 for all parts and may go as high as $125.00.  The band generally plays eight to ten pieces at a single concert and adds five to ten pieces to its library each year.

 Musical Instrument and Special Equipment Sponsorship:  While all of the band’s members pay their own way and most own their instruments, the band is occasionally obliged to purchase an instrument or piece of special equipment to round out its sound and balance.  Average cost is $1,500.00.

 Coaching Sessions and Sectional Workshops Sponsorship:  When funding is available local professional musicians are hired to lead sectionals and consultants brought in to present workshops on instrument care and maintenance.  This expense runs in the region of $100.00-$300.00.

Uniform Sponsorship:  In a community band, comprising various shapes and sizes, finding uniforms to fit all of its members is a constant challenge.  Sometimes a member requires a special fit so material and a good tailor is needed to provide a matching garment.  Cost for this is usually about $120.00 per uniform.
